Rock The House Winter Workshop 2012

Happy New Year everyone!

It's the start of a new year and of new experiences for me in my dance journey. I can't wait to share all the exciting things I've been up to since my last post. I hope you had a great holiday with family and friends and are ready to make 2013 your best year yet!

The first thing I wish to share is the awesome class by Luther Brown right before Christmas. Please see the video below from Luther...I had so much fun in this class and loved dancing with Toronto's best hip hop dancers!

Up next was a trip to Park Ridge, New Jersey for the Winter Workshop December 27-30th hosted by Jeff Lapes. I attended it with my good friend Lexi and we had so much fun taking class from Jeff, Will Wingfield, Monique Borromeo, Noel Bajandas, Jason Janas, Alicia Monaco, Dha'Sean Serrano, Talia Favia, Chaz Buzan and Teddy Forance....some of my favorite Generation IV Faculty! It was an amazing four days of classes in tap, hip hop, breaking and contemporary in an intimate environment.

Dancing alongside Chaz and Talia to their combos was one of the highlights of the workshop for me. I've had limited exposure to them on the convention circuit and Chaz just finished touring with Madonna. When we had class every day with them, it was awesome. Their choreography was so creative and there was lots of floorwork which I love. Both dancer/choreographers are Mia Micheal's assistants and they bring the same level of passion to dancing and teaching as she does!

I've made a highlight reel of the workshop. I hope you'll check it out and consider attending next year! The faculty is so talented, willing to share their gifts and it's an opportunity to dance with some amazing people!
